Friday The 13th Remake Update
August 12, 2008
The return to Camp Crystal Lake is expected to hit theaters on February 13th, 2009, brining with it more gore, grotesque killing scenes, and of course sex. The remake of the film that first showed you the face of Jason Voorhees is being directed by Marcus Nispel, co-produced by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The cast includes stars such as Jared Padalecki, Aaron Yoo, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Jonathan Sadowski, and Odette Yustman.
The film has received some confusion in the past few months as many had speculated they would be aiming for more of a PG-13 rating, but Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller addressed this concern, explaining that “None of our remakes have been PG-13. How do you remake a rated R horror movie and take the guts out literally and figuratively? What is F13 without sex, drugs and really, really long sharp machete? And why would we, horror fans ourselves, produce a movie devoid of the things that made the title so appealing in the first place. So let me say for the record, that the F13 that we start shooting this Thursday is a full bodied, rated R film.”
Get Ready To Enter The Asylum
July 29, 2008
This straight to DVD tale brings together a group of beautiful coeds who stumble upon the unfortunately true knowledge that their dorm room was once an insane asylum. To make matters worse, this wasn’t exactly the most friendly of places as the deranged physicians performed outlandish experiments on the troubled teens within in an attempt to find a cure for their mental illness.
Something has awoken the evil doctor’s ghost and it doesn’t look like he’s ready to call it quits just yet. Full of desire to finish the work he started, the crazed doctor finds himself slowly running out of patients as he tears through his former asylum.
Starring Sarah Roemer (Disturbia) and Travis Van Winkle (Transformers), Asylum is directed by David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Cellular).
