The X-Files: I Want To Believe

Fans of the X-Files franchise have been waiting a long time for another reunion of the extraordinarily popular award winning television series, The X-Files. The film reunites the two stars of the series, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, with the shows creator Chris Carter. Carter co-wrote the screenplay for the new film with Frank Spotnitz and both have kept the storyline under wraps to keep the typical X-Files secretive feel.

What is known about the film is that it is a complete stand-alone story in the same fashion that some of the older episodes of the show had managed to do. Much time has passed since the ending of the series, leaving Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in completely different places. Mulder hasn’t given up his search for truth and no matter what Scully does, it doesn’t look like she can find herself left out of these pursuits. The story had to do with a new file that has some how drawn these two back together yet again.
