Terminator franchise is set to return

“I’ll be back.” We should have believed Arnold Schwarzenegger when he famously said this because most of the original cast of the Terminator franchise is set to return in another Terminator movie. According to rumour, this includes Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn.

So, whilst rumour is rife and the production studio has yet to chosen, the fact is that a new visit to the franchise is confirmed. The file is to be directed by Justin Lin, the man responsible for The Fast and the Furious in a “back to basics” return to the story line. The Latino Review seems to have found out about this approach and this would be confirmed by the return of Hamilton and Biehn.

The 5^th film in the franchise is to be set in the present. This means that the fan will be able to enjoy the launch of Skynet and also mean that the Terminator: Salvation plot has been scrapped. Although a lot of this is just conjecture at this stage, the return of Arnie bodes well for the future of the franchise and will appeal to many of the die-hard fans.
