Las Acasias good movie but not great horror

A truck cab is not usually a choice location for dramatic events to occur and most of the time this location would not be enticing at all that is of course unless someone is watching a horror film in which case just about anything is possible.  However, that it is not to say that Las Acasias actually works using this setting because the film does not actually take off as a horror film but instead seems almost more suited to theatre as it tells the tale of a driver and young mother that get to know each other over a trip.

Despite this fact, Las Acasias is not just a road movie or a thrill ride, but instead a nice glimpse into life that is something worthwhile seeing for those who like movies that focus a bit more on life.

The film sees German de Silva in the role of middle aged Ruben who has agreed to take Jacinta plaued by Hebe Duarte and her small newborn daughter on a large journey across South America.  The entire trip should be a nightmare for everyone, but as they have nothing else in common but the fact they are both traveling in the cab they start to warm up to each other and you get to see the heart and soul of the characters and South America in general.  By the end of the film you get to see how everyone has the ability to get along if pushed and the slow thaw of Ruben that offers promise for even the toughest man to have a soft inner side.
