Sleepy Hollow High review

The title of Sleepy Hollow High itself should be an indicator that this is not going to be a great horror film, but for those that are willing to give anything a try this still might be a film to miss.  The idea of bringing the Headless Horsemen into a horror film with plenty of slash and dash is interesting and even a bit intriguing, but the final result is less than stellar and by the end of the film you will most likely be wondering why you spent any money to see a film that looks like it was made in high school.

The actors are definitely D-list and include Ruben Brown, Antonio Benedict, Wendy Donigian, and Maria Brown and by the first ten minutes of the film it is easy to see why because every emotion is contrived and cheesy making you feel as if you could have popped by for a few hours and done a better job.  To make matters worse, the direction by Kevin Summerfield was a joke and it seems that he forgot about special effects which make up the brunt of most true horror films.

In fact, the only real special effect is when the horseman slices of the hand of a guy, who mind you has nothing to do with anything in the film.  Even the horseman himself is a joke which is kind of sad because you would think this is where some of the budget should have gone because if done correctly the sight of him should have elicited some fear instead of laughs.  The only redeeming factor would be if it was meant to be a parody of teen horror, but sadly it was not which is why you would be better off skipping this one.
