Screamfest is coming

The biggest and best of the macabre and grisly, and not to be missed by any horror fans in the vicinity will be on parade at the Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles for ten days starting October 14th.  This is the 11th annual Screamfest, a celebration of the best offerings in film  horror and fantasy and the people who made them happen.

This year the line-up will include the world premier of Rosewood Lane, director Victor Salva’s new psycho/drama/horror tale starring Rose McGowan (from Conan the Barbarian) as a radio talk show psychiatrist who returns to her home town after the death of her father and encounters some disturbing behavior in the local paperboy.  Great things are expected from the director of Jeepers Creepers and Powder.

Also on the agenda:  Julia X, filmed in 3-D, directed by P. J. Pettiette.  This one has an alluring and predatory Julia (Valerie Azlynn) who meets a much more dangerous predator via an internet dating service.  Levide. from writer/directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, is reportedly the follow-up to Inside, and also stars Beatrice Dalle.  A Grimm fairy tale “with all the bloody bits left in”.

Some of the films premiering at Screamfest feature the offspring of well-known screen stars.  Jane Seymour’s daughter Katherine Flynn stars in Stormhouse as a ‘ghost whisperer’ the government brings in to try and communicate with a captured alien entity.  Clint Eastwood’s son Scott co-stars with Sara Paxton in Enter Nowhere, about three strangers brought together at a cabin ‘in the middle of nowhere’ for unknown  diabolical reasons.
