Wicked Lake

If you’re looking for boobs and blood all wound into a horror package, then Wicked Lake is sure to be right up your alley. The movie has much more to offer than just those two things, which is surprisingly refreshing considering many movies which combine the two are just plain stale. Wicked Lake has an original storyline with characters that aren’t cut from a mold and placed in template script.
The basic plot for the movie is that a group of lipstick lesbians head to a lakeside cabin retreat for some skinny dipping fun, unaware that a college classmate of one of the girls has followed them and brought his twisted family along as well. The family consists of all males who humiliate and abuse the girls until midnight, when the tables are turned.
Some people might have a problem with not knowing what exactly the girls are, as the story doesn’t explicitly state whether they are witches, vampires, or even werewolves. That’s left entirely up the audience to deduce. The gore site of the film delivers satisfyingly, with plenty of bashed heads and severed penises to go around. There’s even a scene where one of the girls sucks up brains through a straw. You’ll need to have an iron stomach to sit through this movie in its entirety, as Wicked Lake is not shy about piling on the blood and gore. The effects used to create the gore look great and each scene is very realistic.
The film does have a few flaws, with the most fatal being you could not watch this movie with your girlfriend without her getting upset. There’s lots of nudity contained through the whole film, but honestly, what do you expect from the set up of the plot? At times, it’s hard to understand where the balance between bloodthirsty horror and erotic films comes into play. Aside from this, the movie is essentially a great watch, and even has a few funny moments which only a truly sick horror mind could laugh at. Of course, we say that with as much love as possible.
If you’re able to overlook the overwhelming amount of nudity, or you’re just into that sort of thing, Wicked Lake should be an entertaining watch for you. It combines horror and humor in a sadistic way which would be sure to make BTK smile, and you just can’t go wrong with a plot in which the female characters are actually the antagonists instead of the damsels in distress.
