Dario Argento’s 1977 classic Suspiria has been green lighted for a remake with David Gordon Green leading the way. Green has already written the remake of Suspiria and will be directing the film as well. What’s really gotten everyone excited about this film is the recent addition of Natalie Portman to the cast. With Portman having done such epic films as the Star Wars prequels and V For Vendetta in the past few years, having her on board adds a significant amount of weight and anticipation to this remake.
Portman will be playing the role of a young American dancer who travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. When she arrives, she soon realizes that there is something quite sinister happening behind the scenes of this school. In Argento’s original film, this role was played by Jessica Harper.
We’ll keep you posted as more developments break.
