Darren Aronofsky’s ROBOCOP Set For 2010 Release

Director Darren Aronofsky has officially signed on to the newest ROBOCOP movie set to hit theaters sometime in 2010. Aronofsky has been known for his work in movies such as PI, The Fountain, and Requiem For A Dream. The entire movie will be completely refashioned, with the finished product coming in at as much as $100 million.
To help bring the feel of the now over 20 year old classic back onto the screen correctly, they’ve picked up some support from Mike Medavoy, who helped produce the original movie. Everyone in the production team seems thrilled to bring this movie into a new century.
DiCaprio To Revive The Twilight Zone For Theaters

Taking something as classic and reviving it into a more palatable experience for todays audience can be quite difficult. But as a die hard fan of the The Twilight Zone, Leonardo DiCaprio feels ready and willing to get this movie adaptation going. Instead of doing several connected stories, Appian Way (owned by DiCaprio) and Warner Bros. have decided to turn one or more of the original show’s stories into a single storyline.
They’re only just now at the stage of selecting writers and other creatives, so no word yet on when The Twilight Zone movie will hit the big screen.
The original show ran between 1959-1964, with revivals in 1985-1989 and even 2002-2003.
Resident Evil: Degeneration Exclusive Comic Con Trailer

The trailer for Resident Evil: Degeneration, the completely CGI Resident Evil movie sequel is now available for all to see. Originally airing this past week at the San Diego Comic Con, the trailer is now being hosted by IGN Movies. The movie is directed by Makoto Kamiya, who handled the special effects for movies such as Godzilla: GMK and L: Change The World.
The setting of the film takes place after the Umbrella Corporation has been disbanded and the virus eradicated. Unfortunately, a Zombie at an American airport didn’t get that memo and is ready to start things all over again.
MTV To Remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show

For over 30 years, the cult classic that is “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” has been relived countless times on midnight screenings by those oh so crazed fans. With the popularity so high, it’s a wonder why someone hasn’t stepped in to capitalize on this yet. Apparently MTV feels the same way.
The news/rumor so far is that MTV plans to remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The remake will use the original screen play, but as of yet, no casting decisions have been made. Lou Adler, executive producer of the original movie will be heading up this remake as well.
With such a huge following, the goal here is to bring more into this cult classic while not offending the existing fans. Can MTV do it? We’ll have to see as more is revealed about the casting choices.
